Right Action

2486394359_65e5e02f1d_bWhat should I do tonight? I’ve got so much I should be doing but lately, I’m finding myself wanting to sit back and relax or go to bed early. And it doesn’t feel wrong, just a little foreign. I feel I’ve got “miles to go before I sleep”, yet rest and sleep is what I feel most inclined to do. The thing is, I’m managing to create and accomplish great things even with extra down time. Or, rather God is using me to create great things.

I want to rest, partially because I’m tired, but mostly because I’m waiting for my next cue. I’m waiting for the sign of right action or wu-wei as Stuart Wilde called it. Right action means not acting until you know what action to take. This down-time is a time for me to listen for what my next step should be. It is a time for me to listen and hear it.

So I will honor it again tonight without resistance. So strange is my ability to let go and repose as I stand at the doorway to my new life, a life I’m impatient to enter; but rest and listen I will.
